After the game we hurried home because Kelly was waiting. The game started 1/2 hour later than I had thought, plus went into overtime so she had been hanging with Jamie at the house for a bit. Of course we got stopped by the train- and I parked it right on the tracks (this is the view out the passenger window)... oh dear God!
So the girls headed out and we had a pretty enjoyable night- although I don't think pitchers of Long Islands is a safe choice EVER! Just saying... PS Kelly always is so cute- it makes me sick, I love her outfit...
Anna got the navy stare down while my friend Ryan patiently waited for her to finish the conversation about the Seals- he had a little crush on "Hot Roommate."
Janna always said Grandma's on Fridays would be like this- but for some reason we had to see for ourselves...
It turned out to be one of the most fun nights yet- I love when Fun Kelly comes for a visit- hopefully it's the first of many!Saturday, unfortunately, was not great, the long island did not leave me feeling healthy and I spent most the day sleeping- ugh I hate that what a waste of a day. BUT finally I showered and it was off to game #2 of the Minnesota series. I was still experiencing a minor headache at the game so my Grandma gave me prescription pain killers- YIKES! After the game, Libby's team headed to the stage of the Duluth Symphony while they played "We are the Champions" for them- since they are the defending National Champs- however, they were up on stage after being swept over the weekend. It was pretty cool, especially for Anna who didn't realize there was actually a Symphony performance going on and thought that the Symphony was just playing the one song for the team. When we got let in the back of the auditorium she said, "Where did all these people come from?" (Referring to the audience who had watched the entire performance).
The team's family and friends met at Old Chicago where we had some Italian nachos, pizza, and a beer. Afterwards my parents, Grandma, and Tay headed back to the Bay- Anna and I decided to go see what was happening at Grandma's. The line was insane and all the girls were dressed in their usual scandelous attire so we decided to leave the Canal Park area- with no plans at all we headed over the bridge to Superior to see if we could find our good friend Leah. We stopped at Lord Stanley's and were instantly greeted by her friend who told us she had been there- a few phone calls later and she was on her way. We even sported our Libby buttons the whole night.
I wasn't feeling the cutest- so I told Kelly I looked like shit, to which he responded, "If you look like shit, then I want shit all over my face..." Uh... Kelly- that would be Leah's husband, this is a pic of the two of us...
Anna of course had to write down this quote- because that is just what we do...
On the way home I was telling Anna and Leah about Scott Bruce- our elementary school guidance counselor- who would sing songs including "I wanna be a dog"- WOOF WOOF! Anyone remember that one, it's a favorite of mine, especially the part about peeing on telephone poles.
When we got home I confessed to Anna that I had fed Jaya (her dog) some sloppy joes by saying, "I had some residual sloppy... so I just let Jaya go to town on it!" (And that folks is your Sheena Guzzo quote of the day.)Hope everyone had a fun weekend- I know I did.
