Hot Off Of Facebook...

Finally I have some pics to post from Megan's wedding- the first one is me and the beautiful bride- I am seriously SOOO envious of her hair- can someone please do mine like that for Ginny's wedding?
Megan didn't toss the bouquet so I stepped up to the plate, Annie was the only one on board though:
Spending some time with Kelly was awesome- we don't do it nearly enough:
Here's me and all my favorite people- and some new friends too. Kelly is apparently comfortable grabbing Anna in front of his wife, Leah (while she just sits there looking pretty), the Canadians were there, and Meg is still looking gorgeous.
Thanks for such a fun night everyone- hopefully the Canadian Reception will be just as memorable :)

I LOVE CHILI

Okay so this is the honest to goodness truth; after booking my plane ticket I saw a flyer for a Chili Cook-off that is the day my plane leaves. I am SOOOO distraught about it- it seriously would have been right up my alley. So since I am upset Anna has agreed to let us have our very own chili cook-off. It will probably be in September so I should start looking for a recipe ASAP! Another thought I'm having is perhaps we could all get together and share our favorite recipes, that way we could try a little of everything. If that's the case I may have a major dilemma because I have a lot of recipes I absolutely love. Oh- I'm SOOO excited :) Leah, Anna, Char, and Janna- you are definitely in. Anyone else?

Tips for Dips

This weekend I worked at the Big Dipper and broke the record for the most tips. Then today (Sunday) I beat my own record. Not sure if it was my looks, my style, or people feeling sorry for a 23 year old working at an ice cream shop but I'll take it. So if you're looking for a nice treat I'll be at the BD all of Labor Day weekend serving up some tasty ones :)

Now it's back to my real job tomorrow- ugh 8 am is not quite as convenient as starting at noon!

Will they really let me into Canada?

Okay so this is going to be embarrassing for me- but thinking about my trip to Surrey next month I can't help but wonder if this is going to cause any problems at the border:
Yes folks this is it- my passport picture taken at the ripe age of 15 or 16- can we say WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?! Seriously the blonde highlights, braces, and bushy eyebrow look was not working for me. Last time I used this was in Houston heading out for our family cruise- the woman checking it literally bursted out in laughter. For reference this is me today:
Please tell me I've changed for the better.

Seriously I will post pics once Annie's internet is up and running so she can send them to me!

GOL

This weekend was a side splitting one. I seriously have so many things that make me giggle out loud I don't even know where to begin- here's a list:

-Go to Park Point with Leah, there is a hole dug in the sand approximately 2 feet deep, I proclaim "That's an accident waiting to happen." Sure enough we lay out our towels and sit down only to hear a woman scream; she is in the hole and unable to get out, she is wearing head to toe pink with matching visor. Her family helps her out, none of them are laughing- Leah and I are pointing and laughing.

-Leah and I decide to have dinner at Old Chicago then check out the bar scene in Superior. One beer each bar, enter Shooters (stop #4 on the tour), I see a friend that is line dancing, Leah admits she is drunk, Leah's husband (Kelly) comes to join us, we befriend a cowboy from Cloquet (tight pants, large belt buckle, hat- the works), Kelly takes him on the dance floor to show him what Brokeback Mountain is really like. We see a guy who peed on our friend's floor one night- so Leah approaches him about it and changes the story from pee to poop, he is not happy she is shouting this in the bar. Kelly tries to fight a creeper who stares and took a picture of us on his phone. After the bar, we (cowboy included) go to a GRAVEL PIT?? to hit golf balls, immediately are told to leave so the cops don't come and give us trespassing tickets.

-Family reunion laughing about chips from Byerly's. This one is totally a "you had to be there thing." My aunt said her son (my cousin) was bringing a "Special Treat" that isn't available up here- next thing you know everyone is talking about these chips from "This Far Away Magical Place called Byerly's"

-Megan's wedding, hotter than imaginable, I have to bring the runner down the aisle with another girl. Well we found out at the very last minute that we were supposed to start at the front, I carried the roll up under my arm, the groom had to stand on it because it wasn't pinned down, and it wouldn't spin so the Father of the groom helped us unroll it the entire way. Meanwhile I am beat red, sweating, and completely mortified since I had been so nervous to do it anyways.

-At the wedding dance, Leah freaks Megan's aunt, groomsman line dances with the biggest smile you've ever seen, Kirstin throws on a pair of Ray Bans and dances to Thriller, go to the hotel- watch Crossroads while Leah hot tubs with Bruce (while their spouses sleep), I wake up in the middle of the night to find a groomsman in the bathtub.

FACT: I live to tell these stories :)

In other news, the wedding was seriously AMAZING lots of fun and Megan looked BEAUTFIUL! I decided I will be attending the Vancouver reception and am booking a plane ticket tonight.

PS Pictures to follow :)

Good Bye My Lover- Good Bye My Friend- You Have Been The One- You Have Been The One For Me...

The is EXACTLY what I mean about NOT wanting to grow up. I have come to the realization that "Old Skinnier Sheena" can't drink the Captain like she used to. It's a sad day. I have today off and will spend it mourning in Canal Park. Until next time here's a quick picture of me last night:

Tuesday- UGH!

I can not believe it is ONLY Tuesday, this work week has been random because my mornings fly by, like unreal fast, I am so busy and by afternoon everything is under control and I begin to want to run for the exit like a bat out of hell!

Today is also an UGH day because it is the last day before Megan's "husband-to-be" comes to town. I am super sad; once he gets here it will be FACT that she really is leaving us and this wedding is really happening! So if you happen to see this guy walking around MN tell him to go back to Canada- he can't have her: Just kidding Megs- I am SOOOO happy for you and excited for the wedding this weekend! We definetly should do something fun tonight though :) See you when I get home!

Unreal How Bored I Am

Megan's last weekend before the big wedding and I am ready to hit the bed before 10 o'clock. Anna and her are both out of town, so I have spent the last few hours watching Season 1 of Arrested Development- which really makes me reflect back to the last time they left me home alone for the weekend and I watched Seasons 2 and 3 of the Office. This weekend is going to be a long one.

Tomorrow I plan to go to the beach alone and possibly read a book, while people stare at me because I'm the weird girl who goes to the beach alone. Which makes me think of a list I made for myself a while back, I call it- "The Things I'd Like To Do Before I Turn 24." One of the things on there is travel alone, perhaps Park Point is just the type of travel I need to cross that one off. Perhaps the fact that I can't even handle being home alone for one weekend is a sign I can't handle travel alone.

Well now that I've mentioned the list I suppose everyone out there reading this (Megan, Janna, Anna, and Ashley) are wondering what's on it, here goes:

1. Achieve my goal weight- let's be honest folks we all want this to happen for me- especially you Anna- hahaha :)
2. Become an assistant buyer
3. Establish a savings- this is a necessity!
4. Get a handle on my spending- serious reality check needed here
5. Get a new car- although my car will be paid off soon, this may be getting removed
6. Travel alone- Park Point and/or other destination
7. Organize my pictures- print, label, album, the works- these things are everywhere
8. Figure out how to make my family DVD- this is an ongoing effort for over 2 years now
9. Start exercising regular- Hello Carmen Electra, welcome back to my life
10. Credit check
11. See part of Europe- um... not sure how this will happen- see #3
12. Meet a celebrity- preferably John Mayer, but I'm not too picky, as long as it's not Blake Lively for obvious reasons (Janna don't make me elaborate)

SO there you have it, the 12 things I will look at June 13, 2009 and realize have not been acomplished, or will they be? Stay tuned!

Well I am off to bed, hopefully when I wake up in the morning I will look like something out of a Folgers commercial, this is a preview :) Good night y'all!

Quote To Live By

Last night I hung out with my friend since HS, Meghan, she ALWAYS gives the best advice and I can tell her anything. When I was at her house I saw this Mark Twain quote which I thought was amazing- she totally lives by it.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Somehow I don't think he's talking about the same thing I am, but it makes me feel like someday I'll be glad I go out on the weekends and live it up. So the next time I'm over analyzing a stupid decision I made- I'm going to think of Mark Twain and realize that 20 years from now I will be happy I learned from that mistake rather than never experiencing it at all.
Oh and Meghan also taught me the art of deleting phone number to prevent temptations- THANKS MEGS!

A Little Party Here... A Little Party There

My occupation description will soon be changing to "Bachelorette Party Enthusiast" after my last two weekends. Weekend #1 was for my good friend Ginny, we lived together in college and have some pretty crazy memories- a couple more were added after her bachelorette party. Where do I begin? First here's a shot of the first girls to arrive- don't we look cute, it's like we don't even know what to expect. That's Stacy, Ann Marie, Ginny, Nancy, ME, and Wendee. Once everyone arrived we ate, drank, and were merry. We shared a lot of laughs and got to know one another through some pretty creative penis games- my smooth black playdough penis got second in the sculpture contest :)
Saturday we were off to the lake for some relaxation- yeah right. This next shot is me- with Ginny and Stacy in the background. I believe I had just taken a beer bong with a bachelor party who happened to be out on the lake too! Ginny also introduced me to Tattoo by Captain Morgan- still not as good as the traditional spiced rum (yummy- my fav drink) but definitely a tasty little pull on a hot July day. This one is all of us- minus our photographer Wendee. This is right about when the lasagna burnt- apparently Stacy's Grandpa's stove is hotter than a traditional oven. Don't worry we ate it anyways- a little black never hurt anyone. This last picture just cracks me up- Nancy is dying laughing in the background and Ginny has an expression that screams "This is the best weekend of my life!" I missed all of this as I was dancing a storm inside and buying the band shots- which I certainly didn't need.By the time Sunday morning came around I certainly was missing the spring in my step, but I was happy for the memories made with some awesome girls and getting to spend the weekend with my Ginny.

On to party #2- my roommate Megan, everyone dressed like a police officer and I certainly should have been arrested on grounds of bad behavior. The party started at our house and then a limo picked us up and brought us to the bars. Everyone got a "mug" shot taken with their offense- mine hardly seems appropriate. We had a bar challenge where we got a card saying a type of person we had to take a picture with or something we had to do. I had guy who's had too much to drink, married but not tonight guy, get someone to buy the bride a drink, and glad I'm not with them group (see picture). Oh by the way- not a big deal, but I won. Here's me and my roomies in the limo- I feel like I should be apologizing to them right now for my behavior later on :) I love this picture- haha, Megan looks like she's having fun and I guess I am too.
Here's all of us with the manager of Ace's who brought us champagne. Note Megan, aka bride to be, in the back saluting the camera. Oh PS I also got a bouncer at Ace's to dance for Megan and give her his boxers (not really sure how, but it happened!)

Thanks for the fun times girls- not really sure what happened at the end of the night, but from what I remember it was as great time :)
