Sheena Polooza

I walked around the corner at work today and saw this.... I entered my cube and saw this....Isn't my boss the best? I heart him- the only thing he could have done better is serve Shark Tanks...
My friend Lisa made me an amazing ladybug cake.... The best part may have been the gift Lucas made me (with the help of Kristina)...
If you can't read that it's me in love with Robert Pattinson, Nola's revenge biking body, Jacqi is furious, and Lucas is left alone, where's Sheena?
I have the most amazing coworkers and can't believe how special I felt today! Tomorrow is my actual birthday. The BIG 2-4, I guess I have to change my about me on here, but I'm not changing my motto :)

That's Rad...

If you have a job like mine you see signs of the 80s returning a bit more frequently then the average person. Trust me folks it's coming. I have to admit I loved my outfit today (and got a few compliments on it), but it wasn't until a side pony tail was requested by a coworker that my look was finished. Yes it's an 80s screen tee, broomstick skirt, stirrup leggings, and pumps..
Special thanks to Kelly for your assistance in shopping for this look...

Busy Little Beaver...

Thursday and on this weekend was quite chaotic....After work we had a get together at our boss's house- I LOVE everyone I work with, here's our gorgeous group shot...Midway through hors d'oeuvres and half a glass of wine into the evening I found out Taylor's team had won their first game in the double elimination section championship game (they had to beat Cherry twice). I excused myself from the party and was off to Cloquet- just in time to see some of the game and the celebration (the best part- aside from seeing Ms. Taylor Udenberg of course)... Someone yelled out- "It's the First Family of SB Softball" when we were taking this picture and I have to admit that seems to be the case- haha....Taylor says I'm her hero- can you blame her?

Sis-STARS photo (sans Kenzie)... I'm so happy I was able to make it for TayTay and my Daddio- I'm one proud girl- Kato here I come :)Friday at work- Lucas and I learned we don't have green thumbs :( I was upset and Lucas was mad (?) at my Mom (?)- she gave us the plant...
After work I went to Dubhlins for a going away party, then headed to the Bay. When I got to town my parents and I went to the muni for Wade's birthday.
Saturday I went to the graduation ceremony and then it was wedding time... CONGRATS TO JENN AND DEREK- the wedding was a blast and absolutely gorgeous (especially the bride)... Taylor and I took this pic together, do you think we're sisters?

I guarantee there are more pictures of me circulating from the wedding... I just haven't seen them yet.... Open bar and a DJ- yeah you could say I danced a bit :)

Prayers Requested

In general, I don't like to talk about serious stuff on my blog, but someone very important in my life is going through a tough time right now. My aunt Penny has been diagnosed with lung cancer- it is very advanced. She is starting chemotherapy tomorrow and we should know more once we see how she responds to the treatment.

My aunt and I have always had a special relationship. When my Grandma died in 2003 we became even closer, I think she understood what I would be missing without her and filled that void for me. That's what is crazy about her, everything she does in her life is purely for others. Someone like her is the last person to "deserve" what she is going through. When we found out the results of her tests on May 11th, I was devestated. I rummaged through a keepsake box and dug out an old note I had kept from her, it was written weeks before I graduated college and was 2 pages handwritten basically expressing her love for me and why she thinks I will be successful, etc. The note is so special to me, Penny ALWAYS has had the ability to make me feel good about myself, which is probably why I first cried just thinking about how much she means to me. Then I thought about my Mom who has an amazing relationship with her sisters, especially Penny and who has been through so much in her life- I cried a little harder. Then I thought of my cousins, one of whom packed up his things and moved from Orlando home- Penny would do anything for them, she's their rock.- and the tears continued. But in the end my sobs were soley for her, I knew how scared she must be and I knew I would do everything in my power to help her.

I'm crying as I write this, but I need to get this out here because we need some prayers and I would appreciate it if you could keep Penny in yours.

Please visit her Caringbridge site here. Sign her guestbook, she loves notes of encouragement- even if she doesn't know you, just say I sent you :) You can also sign up to have journal updates sent to you.

Thanks friends!

Love, S

Dear Megan...

Our sisters won the section championship today by upsetting Cherry in two games, first game 5-2, the second game we 10 runned them (because we could) 12-2. I know you already know this but it is exciting to write. I was bummed because Tuesday when the girls played I was so busy at work I couldn't make it to the games and today we had a work gathering from 4 pm to 6 pm, so I got the text they won the first game and snuck out. I drove pretty slow to Cloquet. :) HAHA- I was on two wheels with smoke shooting out from my tires. Luckily I saw most the game and the celebration stuff of course!

Anyways, I would love nothing more than to put my lawn chair next to yours in Mankato. We could hang out at the hotel together, possibly enjoy dinner in our families' company. The weather here is even getting nicer, it was 76 today :) or warmer. Just saying I hope it works out for you to come. This is a direct quote of what I told your Dad, I said, "Can you please make me a promise? Do whatever it takes to get Megan here for the state tourney, short of donating plasma for money, that's just crazy..."

Also, your sister got interviewed for the news. It was cute, Pats was moving out of the way and I yelled for the news guy to get an interview with her. No such luck, but I'm sure channel 10 would have seen a sure boost in ratings. It's kind of funny that my Dad didn't want to play Kirst at pitcher and then she looked strong in warm ups so he took a shot- smooth move Mikey, eh? Everyone was so excited when they won- they deserve it. Lexi cried of course, Biz gave me a huge hug (sidebar: did you know she is singing at graduation? I am going.), Taylor was out of control excited, Marina Carter hit the ball like she was on steroids, Jess was pretty sweet, and your sister was awesome- as usual- and she is praying you are coming, as am I.

Long story short, I hope you are coming! I LOVE AND MISS YOU!

PS Sorry I took so long to write you a Dear Megan. Trust me it's not my lack of missing you- I have been thinking about you a lot lately...

Happy Mother's Day Mommy

Thanks for always being willing to have some fun... and for all the other Motherly stuff you do, like advice (even when I don't ask for it). I LOVE YOU!

PS This "yearbooked" picture of my Mom is how I remember her from my younger days... it's tamed quite a bit now!

A Weekend to Remember...

Last weekend was amazing, Janna came up and it was SOOO awesome to see her, as usual. Friday night we went to Johnny Holmes and tried to stay low key since Saturday night we had a bachelorette party :)
Jenn's bachelorette started at Old Chicago for a nice quiet dinner...
Quiet, until Lindz ordered us tequilla shots...
We had a limo, which was amazing. It was awesome that Janna got to come along, all of the SB girls seemed to really like her and I was happy to spend time with EVERYONE!
Really who wouldn't like her?
Our huge inflatible penis came with us to each stop- I'd love to take a look at it and see what exactly is written all over it...
Meghan let everyone stay at her house- sooo nice of her. We all totally rocked matching shirts and danced the night away...
Needless to say it was a LONG night, this picture has no caption... it's really not what it looks, but it's funny to let everyone's imagination go WILD...
Hopefully we were able to give Jenn a fabulous last HOORAH... remember Jenn, there's still time to stop this :) HAHA... Thanks for a fun night EVERYONE!

Sunday was gorgeous, Leah and I went to our first summer (yes I declared it) BBQ- it ended up being a blast... it was a good opportunity to see some people I hadn't in a while and meet some new ones :)
